BEE MY JOB

AN URBAN AND SOCIAL BEEKEEPING AND AGRICULTURE PROJECT

Welcome, training and work. These are the key words that enclose the essence of Bee My Job, an urban and social beekeeping and agriculture project born in Alessandria thanks to APS Cambalache, and which sees refugees and asylum seekers play the lead role. A project, at the same time, of integration and personal growth of the resources involved and the territories, which is based on the culture of respect for men and nature, and on a work ethic in stark contrast to the logic of exploitation that too often are protagonists in Italy. Awarded and recognized as a virtuous model of integration, it has already been replicated in different territorial contexts in Italy and enjoys the patronage of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). A project that looks to the future of Europe with a strong and clear message: in order to create value, we need to give space to contamination!

BEE MY JOB: THE FILM
TRAILER

Thanks to the support of a group of beekeepers involved in the project, the idea was born to tell Bee My Job through a short film that could highlight the different aspects of this experience. The documentary plays on the similarity between the importance of a swarm of bees for the balance of the ecosystem and the need to make room for cultural contamination, to welcome those fleeing war, those who are threatened by fragile and dangerous systems just as bees are from the environment that man has polluted. The full version can be viewed on APS Cambalache’s You Tube channel.
